National Walk for Juneteenth Awareness

Ms. Opal Lee, the 92 year old winner of The Distinguished Service Award from the 400 Years of African-American History Commission, is walking across the country to make Juneteenth a national holiday. Join Ms. Lee on her walk in Williamsburg and for a reading of her children’s book.

Monday, August 26, Stryker Center, 10:30am – Ms. Lee will read her Juneteenth children’s book and invite us to join her on a 2.5 mile segment of her National Walk through Williamsburg’s historically Black neighborhoods, ending at First Baptist Church to ring the Freedom Bell Reception with light refreshments to follow.
